Karen’s own experience of disability exemplifies this totally. “We all want to be defined by our abilities rather than our disabilities, but it is often out disabilities which give us the greatest strength, not to take our abilities for granted, but to put them to the greatest use for society. Karen also inspired me to write the quote below, which helps me express things. I felt that Karen understood what it was like to be in my shoes and, by making my fight her fight also, she shared the burden and greatly improved my confidence. Having said that, I know I was responsible for a lot of that work. I am bit worried that Karen works too hard. She was interested in me as a person going forward.
